I was watching a trailer for a rally documentary earlier in which Ken Block remarked, "people don't realize how expensive a hobby racing is."  I realized it after my first track day so for my second time out I opted for one round at around $100.  For that kind of money I got a lot of hot weather, a screaming baby whenever open exhaust cars flew by, a decent lap time and few more things to fix on the car.  Good experience but yup, expensive.
